What many believe is the 2009 Dodge Ram

This photo is, according to numerous people, definitely the 2009 Ram. It was taken from the official Mopar.com website. Air appears to be getting diverted into slots above and below the bumper, and that the area underneath the headlights appears to be tilted back to move the air along. In other words, this appears to actually be an aerodynamic front end. One commentator at allpar noted: Look again at that control arm peeking our in the rear its a totally new coil spring design, probably a 3 link, possibly a 5 link ... its been 8 years [since the basic vehicle was designed] ... a coil spring rear suspension almost sunk the new for 1967 Chevy and GMC half-ton pickups. It was not well recieved at all by pickup buyers. (Autoblog reported that it would be a 5-link with 4 trailing arms and a track bar).

It's A Great Time For

As more and more people in the United States become interested in fuel economy-even if the prices we pay here are nothing compared with what Europeans pay at the pumps-the decision by Jeep to bring in a diesel version of its Liberty SUV is pretty smart thinking. SUVs are the most egregious gas guzzlers you can buy, so if you can still provide reasonable fuel economy and maintain SUV virtues such as a high seating position and all-around versatility, what's not to like? The Jeep's 2.8-liter, four-cylinder, DOHC, sixteen-valve, direct-injection, common-rail turbo-diesel clatters at idle and has that proverbial hum at freeway speeds (we love it). The diesel provides mighty torque and makes up for its modest power output.

Nissan Nismo at SEMA

In other news from the SEMA Show, Nissan showed off its most recent entry in the CORR series. The Titan, built by American Flyer Racing, has been in three races this year with limited success. But the truck has also had three different drivers, including road racing specialist and parttime NASCAR shoe Boris Said. Carl Renezeder is expected to be in the seat fulltime next year. The truck has a 715-horsepower engine built by Menards Engine Development. Next to the CORR Titan was a red production-style off-road-modified Titan that finished second in its class at last year's Baja 1000.

Honda to enter US truck market with the Ridgeline

With the Ridgeline Honda is entering the lucrative US truck segment and the company describes the Ridgeline as a "next generation truck". The Ridgeline has an innovative new truck body construction and a steel reinforced composite bed to deliver true truck capabilities. The Ridgeline will most likely carry a price tag in the range of $27,000 to $32,000. Honda expects to sell 50,000 Ridgeline trucks during its first twelve months on the market.

Lincoln makes a second attempt

The all-new 2006 Lincoln Mark LT pricing begins at $39,995 including many luxury features as standard. Limited options are designed to simplify the buying process. * Lincoln creates first Super Bowl ad in more than a decade. The 30- second spot will air during the first half of the game followed by a print advertising campaign. * Lincoln launches Mark LT with an integrated marketing campaign including a "Jet to Jacksonville" sweepstakes kicking off December 1. The ad will be seen as a 30-second spot during the first half of the game and will be supported by print buys in places such as the pre-and post- Super Bowl editions of USA Today and Sports Illustrated.

The CXT is Big, Really Big

The company said it expected to sell about 50 of the trucks, and instead has already taken orders for about 200 since the first deliveries in September. It's now hoping to sell between 500 and 1,000 by the end of 2005. The CXT starts at $93,000 and can cost as much as $115,000 with all the creature comforts a driver would expect in a six-figure vehicle, even one built on a platform originally used for dump trucks and cement mixers.

Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon

General Motors is launching an all-new line of mid-size pickup trunks at the beginning of next year (2004). The upcoming 2004 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon replace the Chevy S-10 and GMC Sonoma compact pickups. Expect the price range to be between $15,000-$25,000. The scheduled release is January 2004, but we believe you just might see it a little sooner. But the Colorado and Canyon are much larger and are better equipped with amenities than the S-10 and Sonoma. One reason for the new formula: Sales of small trucks are sagging. Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon will go head-to-head with the Dodge Dakota. Chevrolet Colorado, on sale early next year as a 2004 model, is aimed at young single people, couples, and families who want a truck bigger and roomier than Chevrolet's current S-10 but not as big as a full-size pickup, like the Silverado.

Level the new Ram 2500

We started with a stock 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4. This specific truck is a Crew Cab, Short Bed, Diesel with a factory optioned ($50.00) 4:10 Gear Ratio. Our goal was to level out the new Heavy Duty and give it a more aggressive look as well as be able to comfortably install 315-70-17 tires (stock equipment on the H2 Hummer). Additionally, we wanted to calm the high RPM caused by the 4:10 gear ratio when your on the freeway and not towing.

Ford's SVT Division is Going, Going,

Hot Truck has learned that, in a very quiet way, Ford Motor Co. has been dismantling SVT - the Special Vehicle Team - and sources inside the company suggest that as of April 1, SVT as we've known it since 1992 will cease to exist.

Ford F150 Lowering Kit Information

There has been quite a few questions on a 3/4" drop on our trucks. I figured I would kinda talk to what I have and the pros and cons. I have the Roush suspension. Although the intent here is not lowering the vehicle but making it handle better, it does lower the truck by 3/4. Since the questions were about fit I will only talk about that and not the handling characteristics.
